We had a 5am start this morning and we were treated to great weather and nice lake conditions! Fishing was a little slow this morning. We ended up with 3 king salmon and 2 lake trout. Our best setup was 300 copper with a chrome with black dot stinger flasher with a bullfrog fly. Also wire mag divers using a green/glow flasher and bullfrog fly.
We had a late afternoon trip tonight and left the dock at 6pm. We set up right outside the harbor and headed north because the fog was heavy. The fishing was terrific tonight though! We had our 2 person limit in under 2 hours! Our best baits were a stinger dodger called "black edge" with a bullfrog fly. We had 10 king salmon and 7 came on that setup off the downrigger set 60 feet down in 70 feet of water. Our other baits that worked were JB spoons magnum "demon dots" and Pro king spoon black and glow ladder on outside slide diver rods with 120-
We fished this morning at 5 am, starting in 60 feet of water straight off the lighthouse and headed north to Pigeon River. We started catching kings right away on JB spoons, oil slick and glow flames on the downriggers set 45 to 55 feet down. Later in the morning rainbow trout started hitting the planer board lines. Michigan stinger spoons with 3 and 4 ounces, in dreamsicle and orange "inmate" patterns
We fished this afternoon and left the dock at 4pm. We were treated to a really nice sunset on Lake Michigan! The fish were somewhat hungry this evening also! We started straight off the lighthouse to sheboygans north point in 60 feet of water. Our best baits were Oil slick JBs magnum spoons on the downriggers set 45 to 55 feet down. We ended with 4 king salmon, 3 rainbow trout, and 1 brown trout.
Today i fished the "Powder Puff" tournament with my usual team for this event. This is another day i really enjoy fishing, and look foreward to every year! This year the fish werent hungry though. We ended up with 1 king salmon and 2 rainbow trout. The king came on 300 foot copper with a green spin doctor and bullfrog fly. The 2 rainbows came on 5 color leadcore with michigan stinger "stingray" size spoon in "nuclear killer"pattern.
Fishing remains slow at best around Sheboygan. We ended up with 3 king salmon at the end of the trip. There was no bait that worked better than others, but every fish we caught came off the downriggers set deep 90 feet to 100 feet down in 110 feet of water fishing south off Sheboygans power plant
I fished "The Pink in the Drink" fishing tournament with my usual fishing team for this event. It is one of my favorite days to fish through the whole season! We set up off of "north point" in sheboygan and headed north in 70-175 feet of water until we reached Whistling Straights golf course. Fishing was slow for the most part. We started out good and put 3 king salmon in the boat right away, then it slowed up after that. We ended up 8 for 13 and catching the 1st place Lake Trout on a white with glow spin doctor flasher with a bullfrog fly.
Another perfect day for fishing and another awesome sunrise!!! Fishing off Sheboygans harbor slowed up so we went north off Whistling Straights golf course in 150-200 feet of water and found some active rainbow trout. Fishing with planer boards with 5 and 6 ounces with Michigan Stinger spoons was the most productive. Mixed veggies and Mass Confusion was the best patters
We were treated to ideal fishing weather and a awesome sunrise this morning! King salmon were hungry for white Hot Spot flashers with glow on one side with a bullfrog fly early. As the sun got higher the rainbow trout started eating michigan stinger spoons on planer boards with 3 and 4 ounces of weight. Kandy Korn and Mixed veggies were the best patterns.
